Missing no more

Filed under: Missing people, News — Kim @ 8:25 am

News came yesterday that they recovered the body of Jessie Marie Davis.  Bitter sweet discovery, it’s good for the family to have closure but very sad to have lost a loved one.

Still Missing

Filed under: Missing people, News — Kim @ 6:34 pm

Considering the circumstances this comes as no surprise, Jessie Marie Davis is still missing.  Not much has changed since I wrote about this on Monday.  There have been a couple of new developments, an ex-girlfriend spoke out about her relationship with non-suspect Bobby Cutts Jr and a newborn baby was found on a doorstep.  The baby on the doorstep was intreaguing at first and seemed to support my theory that someone wanted to steal the baby.  As I put more thought into it, it didn’t add up.  I’m still going with the married boyfriend angle.

I don’t know how many of you out there caught On The Record last night but Greta did a tour of Jessie’s house.  Seems kind of early to have people going through the house but the police released the crime scene over to the family.  One of Jessie’s sisters (along with some other guy, I didn’t catch who he was but I’m thinking a lawyer) was Greta’s tour guide.  She seemed to know her sister very well, almost too well if you ask me.  This is coming from an only child so what do I know.  They went over Jessie’s routine, there was the alarm clock that was still set, the curling iron wasn’t out, things should wouldn’t do like open a door to a stranger, they showed how she would put a stick in the sliding door for extra security.  And then there was the bedroom, the carpet was cut out, there was bleach poured or spilled, the night stand was tipped over but had since been set back up, and then there was the lamp without a lampshade …hmmmmmm.  Where is the lampshade?  Did law enforcement take it as evidence or is it with the comforter?

As for the baby on the doorstep, they’re running DNA to see if there’s a match.  I don’t think this is Jesse’s baby, I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t think it is.  There have been cases where delusional women pretend to be pregnant and then stalk a pregnant woman to steal the baby to pass it off as their own.  If this were the scenario then why leave the baby on someones step?  Maybe the person couldn’t pass the baby off as their own since it’s a bi-racial baby.  All speculation …I don’t have any answers.  *sigh*

So back to Bobby boy!  His ex-girlfriend had nothing nice to say.  I think she had an order of protection against him, said he had a temper.  It should be noted that she’s an aspiring actress so this could be her way of getting her name out there.  There isn’t much news on the wife.  We know she’s not being considered a suspect either.  All sorts of motive in this case but no suspects.  I’ve read that she knew about the 2 year old son and recently found out about the baby that’s on the way.  How recent, I don’t know?  The couple is separated, I’ve heard since February and I’ve heard just a couple of months.  Sometimes I wonder if we’ll ever know the real story.

Meme Meme Meme

Shaney at The Pride Place was kind enough to tag me with this meme: Pieces of Eight – Simply list 8 things about yourself that no one may be aware of!

1. I have a blankie!  I still have my baby blanket and much like Linus, carried it around with me up until 4 years ago (at home at night of course).  It has since been retired to a plastic bag for storage.

2. I am an only child.  MEMEMEMEMEME

3. During my teenage years I participated in a number of local fashion shows.

4. I have never smoked a cigarette a day in my life, nor have I ever taken any drugs.

5.  I’ve been getting laid off for the past 7 years.

6.  My original career choice was to be a State Trooper.  I tested very well but was pregnant when I was called.

7.  One of my goals in life is to meet Greta Van Susteren.  Of all the women on TV, I admire her the most!

8.  There are 2 tattoo’s about my person.  I’ll let you figure out where.

Oh, I have to tag 8 people …I don’t know 8 people.  How about 4 :)

Missing pregnant mom

Filed under: Missing people, News — Kim @ 5:00 pm

The first words out of my mouth when I saw this on TV over the weekend were “the husband did it!”.  Sorry guys but Scott Peterson did you all wrong.  As it turns out, this missing pregnant woman isn’t married but the baby’s daddy is.  Ouch!  Oh he’s separated, my bad.  But seriously folks, he’s a police officer, the father of her 2 year old son and is reportedly separated from his wife (only since February).  The facts as I heard/read them, missing pregnant mother, sheets and comforter missing, bleach poured on floor.  IF it was the boyfriend/cop he sure did sloppy cover up.

Disclaimer:  It is my own individual opinion that he’s behind it all.  For all I know, he could be innocent.  But really, what are the chances of that?  They haven’t even released his name.  Why is that?  Protecting their own perhaps.  Hmmmmm …

Update:  There was a press conference just a little while ago and …”We feel that there possibly is foul play, however we’re still investigating it as a missing person”.  Followed by “there are no suspects”.  Good grief, no suspects …that’s why the FBI are already involved.  They did name the boyfriend, Bobby Cutts Jr. but remember, he’s not a suspect.  They’re not even using the famous tag “person of interest”.

I suppose there could be another angle, perhaps someone wanted the baby.  That’s been known to happen, a woman desperate for a child, faking a pregnancy, kills the mother for the baby.  It’s a possibility but I’m still leaning towards the boyfriend.

6 teens, stolen SUV and a train

Filed under: News — Kim @ 7:44 pm

I’ll begin by saying that this post is a reflection of my initial reaction, which I am still holding on to until I can find a way to see it any other way.  It’s not going to be nice and I’m sorry but it’s time people start to take responsibility.  Again, these are my initial thoughts.

I saw the headline this morning and there was a cooresponding video clip: “4 teens die as stolen SUV slams into idle train”.  Curious, I had to watch.  What I heard amazed me.  This father who just lost his daughter was standing there yelling about how there wasn’t a light or gate at the crossing.  He was furious about this.  The video continued and described what had happened.  6 teens stole an SUV, accident happened around 3:30AM, 4 teens in the backseat died, ages ranged from 12-17.  Those were the facts as I heard them and have since read about.  The father was upset over the fact that there was no light or gate …

Can someone please tell me if I’m supposed to feel bad here?  Not about the fact that parents lost their children, I’m a parent and I can’t even imagine how that would feel and I never want to find out.  But to lash out at the town/city for the lack of a light or a gate rahter than addressing the fact that your child was in a stolen vehicle at 3:30AM …I just don’t get it.  People need to take some responsibility and stop trying to place blame.  Had these kids been in bed where they should have been they would be alive this morning.

This country is going to hell in a handbasket and we’re partially to blame.  Kids today aren’t raised the way they used to be.  Parents don’t pay attention to their kids.  TV, video games and the internet have become the national babysitter.  What does this teach the youth of today?  Have kids and push them off on to somebody else.  What do they say about idle minds?  If a person decides to have a child then they should also step up and be a parent.  It’s not society’s job to raise your kids.  Stop placing blame on the schools, on music, on tv and movies.  The only person to who has control over these things is you the parent.

I am truely sorry for their loss.

I’m in a mood today.  What kind of mood, I don’t know but I don’t seem to have anything nice to say.  And no, it’s not that time of the month.  lol

People!  That’s what gets me going.  The lack of common sense and whatnot.  I’m being too kind and I’m censoring myself and I don’t like to censor myself.  Perhaps I’ll take 5 and rethink my position before I post my next entry.

Colorado College Student Dies of Tuberculosis

Monday, June 11, 2007

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  —

A college student who died of tuberculosis last week probably did not have a drug-resistant strain of the disease, health officials said Monday.

The woman, whose name was not released, died Friday after arriving at the Memorial Hospital emergency room, but officials did not determine that TB was the cause of death until Monday.

An investigation was under way to identify and contact anyone who might be at risk of contracting TB from exposure to the woman, officials said. FOX News reports that the concern is whether anyone was close enough to the patient when she was coughing to breath it in, a process known as tracking the “circles of risk”

They said if she had been contagious, any risk of exposure probably occurred in February or later.

Health officials described the victim as an international student who lived in Colorado Springs and attended Colorado State University-Pueblo, about 40 miles south.

University president Joseph Garcia said the woman never lived in a residence hall. He said the school would provide health officials with her class schedule and the names of anyone she had contact with.

Dr. Ned Colange, chief medical officer for the state Department of Public Health and Environment, refused to release her name, age or home country, citing privacy laws.

But he said she was from “a country where tuberculosis was endemic” and probably contracted it there before coming to the U.S. He said she had not traveled out of the country since February.

Colange said the only way health officials will know if she had drug-resistant TB is if someone she was in contact with comes down with that strain. He said doctors cannot test for that strain once a patient has died.

“Since most tuberculosis is not drug-resistant, it makes it less likely this one is drug-resistant,” he said.

Colange said this case was unrelated to that of Andrew Speaker, an Atlanta lawyer being treated for extensive drug-resistant tuberculosis at National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver. Speaker drew national attention because of his travel oversees and his ability to get back into the country despite federal orders that he be stopped at the border.

Colange said Colorado has about 120 cases of TB annually, and about five to 10 die per year, usually from a depressed immune system and not from TB alone.

Tuberculosis kills 1.6 million people around the world every year; in 2004, it killed 662 people in the U.S.

In 2006, there were 13,767 cases of TB reported in the U.S., the lowest ever, according to the National Tuberculosis Controllers Association. But 20 states reported an increase in cases over 2005, and the District of Columbia had the highest rate — 12.6 cases per 100,000 people.
