It is not easy to boycott all products made in China since EVERYTHING IS MADE IN CHINA! I was in the toy aisle yesterday and thought I would check various toys to see where they’re made. I have a 4 year old and he had some of the toys that were on the recall list, I also brought him for a lead test this past week. So what can I buy my 4 year old that isn’t made in China? Not much! Almost every toy I looked at was made or assembled in China. What’s with the assembled in China thing? If the pieces are made elsewhere why can’t they be assembled there? Wouldn’t it cost more to ship pieces to be assembled? I don’t get it. So what one toy did I find that my son can play with …legos, they’re made in Denmark. I’m sure there are toys out there that are made in the US but they’re not your mainstream toys that your kids want. So what’s a mom to do? I slowly took suspect toys away from my son so he wouldn’t notice right away. I took him for a lead test, results will be back in 8 – 10 days. If his lead count is low then do I give the toys back to him? He’s going to think that he’s living in the twilight zone. LOL I don’t know …I still don’t trust any product that comes out of China.

That’s crazy Kim. I don’t know if I missed an entry about lead; or if you’re being a cautious Mom, but I hope all is well there. It must be hard for a parent to keep track of recall lists. How the hell do you do that? Is there like an online site or something?

With the food scare out of China I’ve been paying more attention to where our food comes from as well. Fortunately the grocery store even lables the produce.
