Police analyze evidence taken from Kerr home

GREENWICH, N.Y. — Police continue to investigate the disappearance of Jaliek Rainwalker, who has been missing for more than three months now.

Last week, Greenwich police and the FBI executed a search warrant at a home Jaliek’s adoptive parents have been staying at and took out boxes of evidence.

Police won’t yet confirm exactly what they took from the house, but they do say that items are being analyzed and tested at the state police crime labs. They said they hope to have test results sometime this week.

Jaliek’s adoptive father, Stephen Kerr, has been named a person of interest in the case. Kerr was the last known person to see Jaliek.

The home that was searched belongs to Graham Kerr, Stephen’s father.

Bobby Cutts Jr. took the stand today and admitted that he was responsible for the death of Jessie Davis.  He claims it was an accidental death and that he didn’t mean to do it.  This story is still unfolding and I’ve yet to see an actual tear.

Holding out hope for Rainwalker

Filed under: Jaliek Rainwalker, Missing people — Kim @ 8:55 am

ALBANY, N.Y. — Jaliek Rainwalker’s adoptive grandparents and foster parents sit and listen quietly. The concert in Albany is to keep the family’s reward fund full. But as the months pass with no sign of Jaliek, emotionally, they are close to running on empty.

“With no sight or sound, we have to think there has been some sort of foul play involved. We just don’t know,” said Dennis Smith, Rainwalker’s Grandfather.

“Whatever did happen to Jaliek is found out and we can put this to rest,” said Tom Person, Former Foster Parent.

It’s been a busy week for people looking for Jaliek Rainwalker. First, the search of Hudson River and then the search of the Kerr family home in Greenwich.

“That made me feel good. Hopefully they found something that will bring this to an end,” said Person.

“It’s serious business getting a warrant to search the property. It is a serious event,” said Smith.

Police took multiple items from the Greenwhich home on Thursday. Rainwalker’s adoptive father Stephen Kerr said the 12 year-old ran away from the house in November. But Smith said from early on he hasn’t bought Kerr’s story.

“He’s lying about something. He’s got to be brave enough and strong enough to tell the truth about it,” said Smith.

Also, both family’s are holding out hope that an anonymous letter sent to various media outlets, including Capital News 9, about a week ago is true. It claims Rainwalker is still alive. But the both the family and police are skeptical that it is real.

Old Missing Person Cases

Filed under: Missing people — Kim @ 8:39 am

As I am doing my best to keep Jaliek’s name in the public eye I can’t help but think of two of the areas first missing person cases.  These are probably not the first missing people from this area but they are the first that I remember hearing about.
