This past weekend brought news of 2 people who’s bodies were found in the Hudson River. Shelton “Shawn” Grant and Florence J. Hanusik. I had heard of Shelton’s disappearance back when he went missing and posted something here and on In Session message board. Sadly, I hadn’t heard of Florence’s disappearance. I wish the media would take on more coverage of missing person cases. There are so many people missing in the Capital District and around the country. Many of these people are never mentioned in the news or in print, it’s sad. There’s nobody following up on these cases in the media and I’m not sure how many cases LE actually follow up with. It’s somewhat understandable with the number of people who go missing each year.
Shelton and Florence’s families, while deeply saddened this week, are fortunate to have closure. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and also remember the rest of the people who are missing from our area.
