Joshua Szostak, Toxicology is Back
A couple of days ago I heard that the toxicology results were back in the Joshua Szostak case. I had first heard this on Al Roney’s show on WGY, then I searched for articles and could find any. Interesting I thought, an on air radio host has this information but I can’t find it in print. The next day I went back to Al’s site and found the pod cast, it was a follow up interview with Josh’s father, Bill Szostak. As I listened to the interview I had heard the same thing I heard the day before. I’m not losing my mind (for a while I thought I was). Again I searched for an article, nothing. This really baffled me because you would think that this information was news worthy. Or was it?
In the interview Al and Bill discussed the results. It was concluded that Josh had about 4-5 beers. Surely that’s not enough alcohol to say that Josh was intoxicated. It coudln’t have been enough for Josh to accidentally fall into the river. I share the same opinion. With that in mind one would conclude that there is still a mystery surrounding Josh’s death. Why doesn’t the Albany Police Department feel the same way? Why didn’t they release the results?
Last night Anderson Cooper (CNN) did a segment on the smiley face killers. He interviewed the 2 retired detectives that are working on the smiley face killings. CNN was in Albany, interviewed Bill Szostak and showed clips of the river. Could Joshua Szostak be one of the 40+ college males that have gone missing after a night of drinking, some of which have been found in a river?
Anderson Cooper …CNN
Today, 2 days after Al Roney’s interview with Bill Szostak, 1 day after Anderson Cooper of CNN does a segment on the smiley face killers that includes Joshua Szostak, the APD release their spin on the toxicology report.
I ask any of you who are here looking for information on either Joshua Szostak and/or the smiley face killers to go to the links below and decide for youself. What happened to Joshua?

Jaliek Search Scaled Back
“GREENWICH – Police have scaled back their investigation of the disappearance of Jaliek Rainwalker, saying they need a break in the case or significant lead before they can dedicate resources to the inquiry again.
Cambridge-Greenwich Police Chief George Bell said all leads in the case have been exhausted, and resources will be dedicated to the search as new leads develop. Investigators had been meeting every week, but recently changed those meetings to every month.
“We’ve done everything we can do at this point,” Bell said. “It’s still an open case. If something comes up, we’ll go after it.”"

Still Searching for Jaliek
There hasn’t been much news on Jaliek since the middle of last week. The silence gets on my last nerve. There’s a 12 year old boy who’s missing and he needs to be found. He’s been missing for over 6 months and someone has information as to what happened on the night of November 1st. If anyone has any information, even if you don’t believe that it’s relevant, please come forward. The Find Jaliek Task Force has an annonymous tip box where you can leave information. Or you can contact the Greenwich Police at 1-518-692-9332.

Job Update
Some of you know of my daily job struggle (Steve) well there’s finally some good news. Last week we were told that we won’t be working from home in June and that there was an 18 month extension on our lease. You’re probably saying to yourself ‘18 months isn’t very long’ and you’re right but we’ve been playing the 6 month at a time renewal game. Most times we’re not even sure we’ll have a job so this is good, for the next 18 months that is.
With the lease agreement comes a downsizing of space, our portion of the building is getting smaller and smaller. Currently I have a nice piece of real estate complete with a window. Now they’re planning on splitting our hallway so people will be shuffled around. I’ve been here for 10 years, I don’t want to be moved again, nor do I want to lose my window. My neighbor saw the new seating chart and says as of now we don’t have to move. WOO HOO! Perhaps I’ll put up a bird feeder.
On top of that I got promoted today. It’s been a few months in the making but it finally went through. Again, some of you know that I am often tempted to leave my job, usually once a year, and just recently I saw a couple of jobs in the paper that interested me. As of a half hour ago those plans are off, with the promotion came a raise.
Finally, it’s a good work day

Forest rangers help search for Jaliek
WASHINGTON COUNTY — New York State Forest Rangers launched an airboat into the Battenkill from a remote part of Washington County to check out areas of the river that haven’t been thoroughly searched yet for Jaliek Rainwalker. The young man has been missing for more than six months.
“We’re going to try and get into some of those areas that, up to a couple of days ago, were underwater and see if there’s anything relevant to the search for Jaliek,” New York State Forest Ranger Lieutenant John Solan said. (more…)
