There isn’t much new to report on Jaliek today so what I thought of doing is a post called “Week in Review”. I will write this post ever Saturday to wrap up the weeks events.
This past week marked 6 months since Jaliek Rainwalker disappeared. To keep Jaliek’s name alive a group of people came together and held a bake sale in front of Jonathan’s Pizza on North Pearl St. in Albany. The even was a huge success in many ways. It brought a group of bloggers together who would like nothing more than for Jaliek to be found. There were baked good, raffle tickets, homemade products and of course donations. It was an emotional day, there were smiles and laughs, tears and anger, all for one little boy who’s smile has touched so many lives. Thank you to all who participated and to those who could not attend but hold Jaliek in your hearts.
This week was also filled with news on Joshua Szostak. While the Albany Police have closed the case, many believe that further investigation is required. I am one of those people. There are still many unanswered questions as to how Joshua got to the river the night of December 23rd. A couple of retired NYC detectives have been in contact with the Szostak family in regards to the smiley face killers. A smiley face was found by the Szostaks by the river, this could mark where Joshua went into the river. Bark has been removed from the tree and has been sent for testing. I know several people who have seen the smiley face in person, all believe that it has been there for some time. My continued prayers go out to the Szostak family. If there is ever anything I can do to help, just let me know.
That sums up the week in review. Have a great weekend!
