Wife of missing man files for divorce

The wife of a 28-year-old SeaTac man, whose disappearance in February sparked widespread attention and Internet speculation and sleuthing, has filed for divorce, according to documents filed last month in King County Superior Court.

I have kept my opinions of Christine Francisco to myself on this blog but this is just too much.  For those of you who are not familiar with this story let me fill you in (keep in mind there are too many details to list, this is just a general overview).

Nicholas Francisco disappeared on Feb. 13, 2008.  His wife and mother of his children reported him missing and even ended up on Nancy Grace and Greta Van Susteren.  She pleaded with America to help find her missing husband, disputed that he would never leave her and claimed that their financial status was ”in the middle”.  She gained the sympathy of an online group with whom she old items with.  These people donated a portion of their sales to Christine to help her during this rough time.  Nicholas was portrayed as a very loving, caring husband and father.  Then it was revealed that Nicholas was “shielding her from their debt”.  While she never came out and asked for money, she did let people know how bad off she was financially.

As time went on there was no news on the missing Sea-Tac man.  His wife who once had the attention of the national media was suddenly quiet.  Why wasn’t anyone following up on Nicholas Francisco?  Then one day Christine posted a comment on a blog stating that she would have to find a new place to live, she was facing bankruptcy and foreclosure.  Out of the blue someone offered her a place to stay rent free, it was a miracle!  So if her husband is missing and finds his way home, who will be there to greet him?  Strange, isn’t it?

Now Christine is filing for divorce.  She once claimed that she would never stop searching for Nicholas.  I don’t see where she ever started.  Could it be that Christine knew Nicholas was leaving her?  Was the missing person report filed just to get back at him?  What about all those innocent people who donated in good faith?  What about people who are truly missing?  If this was a selfish act of revenge then Christine should be ashamed of herself.  And if Nicholas has met with foul play, then who is looking for him?
