What to do, what to do …
Another election year upon us and I don’t know who to vote for. I have contemplated not voting but if I do that then I lose my right to complain. So I guess I have to vote. Here are the pros and cons for each candidate as I see it.
Barack Obama
Pro – If Obama wins there’s no chance of Sarah Palin becoming President
Con – If Obama wins Hillary is done
John McCain
Pro – If John McCain wins we’ll have Hillary in 4 more years
Con – If John McCain wins and something happens to him then Sarah Palin will be President
This is how I see it folks. Hillary would have been the better candidate. At a minimum, Obama should have chosen Hillary for his VP pick. I also like John McCain but when he chose Sarah Palin for his running mate I had to wonder why.

What about Caylee?
It seems the Anthony residence is now a tourist attraction. Unbelievable!
“ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) – A few protesters showed up at outside the Anthony’s home on Saturday, along with a few tourists. One family from Orlando — a mom, son, and daughter dressed for a nice evening dinner — stopped by the Anthony’s to take a few pictures.”
Does anyone remember this little girl??

Looking to Create Jaliek’s Law
Last night I attended a community fourm in Troy, NY organized by Rev. Tim Sherman. The intent of this law is to provide oversight for post adoption services. Many people aren’t aware that, in some cases, once a child is adopted from the foster care systemthe state still provides a monthly check to the adoptive parents. This scenario is for special needs/therapeutic children who require extra care and/or therapy. Jaliek was one of those children.

Open Invitation
This is an open invitation to Stephen Kerr and/or Jocelyn McDonald to contact me via my blog. If you leave a comment (all you have to do is say hi) it will send me your email address. I would like to offer you the opportunity to tell your side of the story, lawyer permitting. I have no agenda other than to offer another perspective.
No other comments please.
Thank You,
Kim

For anyone living in the Capital District, please attend this event on Thursday, September 11th.
Community Forum on Foster Care and Post-Adoption C
In the wake of two separate but unacceptable incidents that both involved an adopted child in NYS, Jaliek (Boyd) Rainwalker the 12 year old from Greenwich, NY that disappeared on November 1, 2007 and Evan the 11 year old from Troy, NY that was found to have been mentally, physically and emotionally abused on May 10, 2008 over a period of time by his adopted mother. Fresh Anointing Ministries has answered the call to create change and needs the communities help and support to do so. There will be a panel of experts from several foster care and adoption agencies including the Dept. of Social Services to answer any questions the community may have. We have also invited our elected members of the NYS Senate, Assembly and Congress to hear from the citizens of NYS in hopes to gain their support in forming some kind of post-adoption oversight by government agencies for families who have adopted hard to place children that receive a monthly tax-free subsidy each month for the child’s care and improve resources and funding for post-adoption services in NYS.
