Jaliek Rainwalker Missing One Year Ago Today

One year ago today, at this time (9:46am), Jaliek Rainwalker was alive and well, his whereabouts was known.  The following morning he was gone, vanished into thin air.  It’s been a long year with little in the way of answers but the search for Jaliek continues.

Today people from the Capital District will be remembering Jaliek in two vigils.  One being held in Albany, the other being held in Greenwich.  Details of these vigils are in the previous posts, if you are in either area please stop by and say a prayer for Jaliek.

  1. Is there a reason that they can’t charge his parents with SOMETHING? I mean, a child they were responsible for is gone just disappeared for over a year! Are there even any hints of movement on this case?

  2. Hi Terri,

You would think there could be something. All is quiet on Jaliek’s case, maybe for a good reason.

  3. Actually, I feel like we are living in the KKK days, where ‘they’ could do just about anything ‘they’ wanted and GOT away with it. I am a woman of GREAT wisdom & knowledge! Wanna know what I think/feel. SK is as guilty as s.i.n. He knows exactly where Jaliek is at, because he is the one that seen him LAST. Lost and Found!!! This is a child we are talking about! Something is diffinitely wrong with the system when someone can adopt a child and place them in a very unhealthy envoirnment…it’s as if the system is saying: “ere you go take this one too off our hands we’ll pay you!!” Wanna see what kind of envoirnment Jaliek was living in (being raised)..check out the website and view SK’s house (if that is what you want to call it). I am going to pray that SK get exactly what he deserves, one day (may be soon), he will have face the JUDGE…not the Judge in court but the JUDGE upstairs and he can’t climb that far!!! I am going to volunteer to be apart of the search team!! My prayers go out to the family that LOVED Jaliek.

    GOD bless

  4. Now you expect any parent who’s child runs away to be charged? Charged with what? Do you know how many children run away every day? Maybe there should be a leash law like there is one for dogs.

  5. Technically speaking a parent is responsible for their child until 18 years of age. If a child goes missing, run away or not, the parent(S) hold a certain degree of responsibility for that. You don’t just throw your hands up in the air and say “oh, well” and get on with life.

  6. One cant always put their lives on hold for a run away child especially if there are other children to care for. Its easy for Barb to dedicate the rest of her life for Jaliek because she has no other responsibilities. Families should be working together as a team. Its childish to fight against the other saying ‘Im spending more time looking for Jaliek than you are blah blah blah’. It makes me wonder if Barb has always loved herself more than her family as she needs to advertise how much more time she is spending on her grandson on a regular basis. She comes across as being immature and self indulgent.

  7. Stephen and Jocelyn should be looking for Jaliek as a family. The other children are older and are capable of understanding what is going on. It’s not like they have a baby or a toddler that needs more supervision.
The fact is, if Barbara didn’t keep Jaliek’s name in the public eye then nobody would. Which it what Stephen and Jocelyn were hoping for, everyone to forget. It didn’t happen that way and until Jaliek is found they will have his disappearance hanging over them.

  8. Whats normal is for families to work together and if one has more time than the other – then all the better but dont brag about it like a 4 yr old having temper tantrums. Yeah families do argue with each other over such things as who has more time than the other but none go on TV and brag about it and make a career out of it either. Thats just plain childish and for a 60 yr old woman – she should have grown up by now and start acting her age.
