Texas EquuSeaerch helping in Kellisue Ackernecht case
JOHNSTOWN — Texas EquuSearch, the organization involved in some of the most publicized missing persons cases in recent memory, will be in Johnstown in early April to look for 36-year-old Kellisue Ackernecht.
Ackernecht has been missing since Oct. 1, when her 1998 Saturn was found burning around 2 a.m. in the parking area at Frog Hollow at the end of West Montgomery Street. No one reported seeing her after she left work around 10 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Rite Aid on Route 30 in Amsterdam.

Jaliek’s Law
Jaliek’s Law is intended to provide oversight to post-adoption care for hard to place children. These adoptive parents receive money for the care of these children (ie: therapy). It is only fair to the children and to the tax payers that someone ensures that they receive the care they need. It can be easily argued that Jaliek did not receive the care he needed.
Those who argue may say it’s not right to discriminate against the way a child is brought into a family. I don’t see this as discrimination and perhaps foster families should have more stringent oversight. While there are many foster parents who’s main concern is the child, there are also those who look to profit from the situation. And the system itself has problems, letting kids go back to parents just because they are the biological parents. In my opinion, the whole system needs an overhaul before any more children are harmed.
As to the oversight …if an adoptive parent wants to be treated as any other parent the maybe they shouldn’t take money from the State for the care of the adopted child. If you want the money then you should be willing to provide proof that you’re doing your part and using that money for the care of the child …not rent …not food …not clothes but for the therapy and/or medical care that deems these children “hard to place”.
Please support what is right for the children of NYS.

Jaliek’s Law
On Tuesday March 10, 2009 Rev. Timothy Sherman of Fresh Anointing Ministries and Chair of the Jaliek’s Law Committee will be holding a Press Conference at 3pm in the meeting room of the Playdium Bowling Center located at 363 Ontario Street (Cor. Ontario and Park) Albany, NY 12208.
We will release Jaliek’s Law to the media which calls for mandatory post-adoption services for hard to place children in NYS such as Jaliek. Included in the Bill are factual reasons behind each individual section of the Bill and the gross misconduct of agencies and individuals involved in Jaliek’s placement and care leading up to the time he went missing and will show how Jaliek’s disappearance could have been prevented if the system and his caregivers had not failed him.
It is our hope that through this Press Conference and releasing information that has not been made public as of yet that we will be able to garner more support from the public in getting this much needed legislation passed before another child in the system becomes a victim.

Person of Interest, Good Citizen
Check out the attached. Stephen Kerr is pictured with the 6th grade class of Long Trail School in VT. He’s doing his part to be a good citizen. I wonder if the school knows that he’s a Person of Interest in the disappearance of his son?

What not to do when a loved one goes missing …
I’m not going to name names here …yet. I am only just beginning to read up on a case and maybe I’m missing something but …when your wife or husband goes missing don’t advertise yourself as single on a social networking site and state that you’re looking for a relationship just months after they go missing!
I understand that people react differently in situations but really …
