There’s a possibility that a body found in the Hudson River near Troy could be Shelton “Shawn” Grant.

Police Pulling Body Out of Hudson River

Crews are on the scene at 1 Madison Street in Troy where police are pulling a body out of the Hudson River. Police say the body is that of a man. A passerby spotted the body in the river, in the South End of Troy near Bruno Machinery.Police say the body is badly decomposed, but there is still some clothing and jewelery. They say that should help them make a positive Identification. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.’s Body Found in Troy, Homicide Investigation Starts

NEWS10 was following breaking news out of Troy where the discovery of a body was made late this afternoon. The discovery was in the Hudson River, right where Madison Street meets the River.Police say a man walking his dog stumbled upon the decomposed body of a black male around 3:45p.m. The level of decompostion made his age undeterminable at the scene, but the body was said to be in good enough condition to provide the victim’s identity. There were also several identifiable items on the body’s person that police say will help in naming the victim, including jewelry, clothing and a belt.Police have also said that a homicide investigation will begin in relation to the discovery. According to authorities, the body was actually weighed down in the river with cinder blocks. This was all the information available at the time.
