Jaliek Rainwalker …Still Missing!

with 34 comments

It’s been just over 2 years and 4 months since Jaliek Rainwalker was last seen with his adoptive father Stephen Kerr.  This post is to serve as a reminder that we haven’t forgotten about you Jaliek and we haven’t forgotten about you either Stephen.  Stephen, you were the last person with Jaliek and as a result you are the primary focus.  You remain the primary focus because you have failed to, refused to, cooperate with LE.  If you have nothing to hide then why not let your property on Raven’s Way be searched?  Why did you move to VT, what if Jaliek tried to come home only to find it empty?  Why aren’t you plastering Jaliek’s missing posters from one end of the state to the other?  Where are your pleas for Jaliek to come home?  You might not be a suspect but your actions or lack thereof point in that direction.  Stephen, I want to hear what you have to say.

This is the third cold and snowy winter that Jaliek has been missing.  Spring is right around the corner though and the searches will ramp up.  In the meantime, we plan, we spread the word, there’s other work to be done.  Jaliek, we will never stop searching for you!  We will find you and then we will find justice!

  1. Kim this is written with the elegance and style we have come to know you by. We have worked behind the scenes for the winter months, but as Spring approaches it is time to make ourselves known again. We need to get Jaliek’s name out there big time. His name, his face.. whatever needs to be done. Thank You Kim…<3

  2. You’re welcome Sandy. It’s long past time that people are reminded that Jaliek is still missing. I think we should organize a big push just before NYS Missing Persons Day. Not just for Jaliek but for the rest of the missing from this area.

    Justice for Jaliek!

  3. Kim I believe I read that Barbara is producing new posters for Jaliek. I wonder what the two of us can dream up as an original attention getter. Something that has yet to be done. We are two clever women.. we can do this.

    • I can tell you something that hasn’t been done is a picture of the adoptive father and the boy. Maybe someone saw them together or has information.
      Just an idea.
      Good luck to everyone.

  4. I thought I read that too Sandy. I’m sure that if we put our minds together we will come up with something good!

  5. Stephen I have a few words for you.Just World Hypothesis.

  6. Good Day Kim. Things are buzzing with Jalieks name. This was your goal and I am glad I could help in some way. It is hard re-watching some of those old news clips. Puts me in an ugly place. BUT we will do what we have to do to find him. Hoping to be able to get some thinking time for a new project. I am looking for unique and different.

    March 5, 2010 at 3:58 pm

  7. Yes, my goal was to get people talking again, I’m glad it worked and it wouldn’t without help from friends like you 🙂 The only way to get to the truth is to go back and go over everything again with a fine tooth comb. It’s been over two years, maybe we’ll see something we didn’t before, we also know more now than we did then. Since there’s no new information we have to rehash the old even if it does bring us to an ugly place.

  8. We have eyes and ears all over and in more than one state. Dedicated people that are willing to give the most precous thing we possess; TIME. Together we have tried many endeavors to find Jaliek. Now 28 months later we are all still together: minus one or two: to continue searching. I have been rewatching the TV segments. Something will surface. I just know it. We will stay positive until he is back home with us.

  9. AMEN! I’m going to my first Search and Rescue meeting this Wednesday with Joy. I am very excited to learn so we can apply it to our searches for Jaliek and any other missing person who needs our help. It’s amazing what Jaliek has done without even knowing it. He brought a wonderful group of people together in his name. We won’t give up until you are found Jaliek!

  10. How about you stop tormenting that family? Haven’t they already gone through enough?

    March 19, 2010 at 7:33 am

  11. Stephen Kerr should hire a lawyer and sue you (and others) for defamtion of character and slander. Leave this family alone

  12. I guess my question to Anonymous would be: What has the family gone through? They do nothing to search for their son. Even if they believe he ran away, wouldn’t they search for him. Instead they keep the other kids like hermits in another state. If he is innocent, so be it, but he is a person of interest. Perhaps his lack of searching would be because he knows where Jaliek is and there would be no sense to it. If someone accused me of such horrible things I would be very glad to prove my innocence.
Joe T, Kerr Lawyered up years ago. He is well protected. Until McMorris can prove his client innocent, you need to know that people will doubt him. He has defamed his own character, no one had to do that for him. He was interested enough to come sniffinfg around one of the bake sales we had in Albany. Why didn’t he stop to lend a hand? We would have welcomed a sign of interest from him.. NO, instead he drove back and forth until an Albany Police officer followed him and he did not come back through with his Subaru. We are not causing pain for the Kerr family, the parents are.

    March 29, 2010 at 6:10 pm

  13. Tormenting the family?! Good one! The family did it to themselves by not cooperating with the police and not showing any interest in looking for their son. When you act guilty …

Sue for defamation of character and slander …me and every news organization that has reported on this story I guess. I’m not saying any more than what has been reported and it’s just the facts JOE T. Did I come out and say Stephen Kerr killed Jaliek? NO! I never said that and I never called him a murderer either. All I’m stating is that he was the last one to see Jaliek alive and he’s not cooperating with LE. The fact is that he’s a person of interest, he’s never been cleared. If you have nothing to hide …

    March 29, 2010 at 9:11 pm

  14. The trouble with you Kim is that all you know is what you read in the papers. This happens all the time: the police want to solve a mystery, so they are willing to splash the media with information that meant to manipulate people like you. Take a look at this Police framing someone to make them look guilty happens all the time. If you looked at this with a less biased eye, you would see that the police acted far worse than the Kerrs. The Kerrs went to the police the morning that Jaliek went missing the the police did NOTHING in those first critical days, then they decided to look for a body rather than for a boy. Then they made it their business to make the Kerr look bad. Get off your rose colored glasses and see the facts.

    March 30, 2010 at 6:50 pm

  15. Sorry Elizabeth but I think it’s you with the rose colored glasses. I don’t think it was the police that made Kerr look like he’s done something wrong but it was Kerr who made him look that way. No parent who thinks their kid has run away moves…. Right now if Jaliek was out there looking to call his parents he’d have no number to even call… No parent would leave the house without so much as a phone number left for a kid to call… A parent who thinks their kid has run away doesn’t go to a party & not even tell friends they’re upset & why….. There’s plenty that is known that didn’t come from the police.

Most importantly we wish Jaliek was here.

    March 30, 2010 at 10:39 pm

  16. Kim, I’m sorry I should have asked before I posted the video, but it didn’t occure to me until I was clicking on submit. 🙂

    March 30, 2010 at 10:44 pm

  17. Elizabeth, While you make a good case for bad evidence in a case, it is difficult to compare the case you left a link for, to Jalieks case. You mention that the Kerrs called the police, you fail to mention that he(Kerr) called it in as a run away child. This was an assumption on Kerr’s behalf, that would later take away any guilt placed on him. He did many things that screamed he knows something more than he is letting on. Why is it when a child “ran away” that the parents didn’t put effort into a search for him. Instead they decided to sell eggs at a vigil for Jaliek. Supposedly to make the other children forget about the situation? How would a “parent” decide to go to an office party instead of looking for his child. The family has done nothing to make themself appear innocent of the disappearance of Jaliek. I know you would like this story to go away and allow the Kerrs to continue to hide away with their children. Until Jaliek is brought home, we continue to raise questions on the Person Of Interest. Most of this information is documented by the media in interviews from the Kerrs. They spoke the words. Please do not tell me it was under duress. They laughed and winked at each other during a very serious interview with channel 10. Leaning towards his shoulder pretending to lick the microphone. Please do not tell me you think his decision to be a clown while someone is interviewing him about a missing child, is NORMAL!!

    March 31, 2010 at 12:29 pm

  18. M2C, Please do not ever feel you have to apologize for being a loving and caring person. The points you made in your post are spot on. This situation should have never happened. The Kerrs need to accept their responsibility in it. Their actions have left people with doubts. It would be nice if they went to the media themselves and ask for people to search for Jaliek. Not a body as Elizabeth said, but as a 14 y/o child missing. At least act like he was once part of their lives and is not forgotten to them and Jalieks siblings. April 1st will be 29 months missing. Step up to the plate Kerrs and friends. Make it known that your child is missing and that you care!

    March 31, 2010 at 12:40 pm

  19. Elizabeth, I forgot to mention in my last post that Kim is not the one with a problem. She has made a blog for people to come on and share their opinions about Jalieks disappearance. She is far from biased. I have known Kim for quite a while now and I feel that I can say that she is a very fair person. She voices her opinion in a very fair way. She has laid no blame on anyone. She, as we all are, is curious as to the actions of the Kerr’s. They bring doubt to themselves. I truly believe that if you are going to come out here in the Kerr’s defense that you need to be less biased of our opinions and prove this case, not one in another state.

    March 31, 2010 at 12:49 pm

  20. M2M, no need to apologize for posting anything 🙂

    April 2, 2010 at 6:34 pm

  21. Elizabeth, I formed my opinions on Stephen and Jocelyn by their actions or lack thereof. I agree that there have been cases where LE sets people up, I was born at night but not last night. Stephen’s actions speak for themselves. As Sandy pointed out, what parent who was concerned about where their child could be would up and move without a way for that child to contact them? Stephen’s first action wasn’t to call the police to report Jaliek missing either, he had other personal business to tend to first. If he were to have cooperated from the start I wouldn’t be as skeptical of him as I am.

Thanks for your kind words Sandy. You hit the nail on the head, we’re all curious of Kerr’s actions. And again, I have to say lack of action as well.

    April 2, 2010 at 6:41 pm

  22. Ok well then if you don’t mind indulging me in another posting of a video this one smacks of the behaviors of Kerr’s that everyone wonders about…..

I realize that the video has been manipulated for the action to be done over & over but the average parent that has a kid missing isn’t playing around happy go lucky like this at all. This is a father who’s going to parties the nighte after his kid goes missing saying notnhing & this interview was done I believe in Dec. so 1 month after his kid is missing he’s playing it up for the reporter? While this piece was edited out & not included in the interview for the TV news segment (& I’m not sure how this person got it to put it on you tube) I believe this was the interview where he lectured everyone how he & Jocelyn took in 2 children etc. The interview wasn’t to ask for help finding Jaliek but to defend himself? & then this clip shows when he’s not defending himself he’s fooling around. Where’s the concern for his “son” who’s missing? THIS is what has people wondering what is the deal with this guy or thinking he’s got something to do with this. The average parent would be out of their mind with worry & if a parent REALLY thought the kid ran away would be publically begging the kid to at least call home so they knew he was ok…. Stephen Kerr does not demonstrate a concerned parent AT ALL & this is what has people thinking he’s got something to do with it. This was not a cohoreced interview by the police just a news reporter asking questions…. He makes himself look guilty…

    April 13, 2010 at 5:04 pm

  23. I’m curious to know too how is it that looking for this child tormenting the family??? Are they so afraid of what might be found they feel just looking for Jaliek is “tormenting”?

    April 13, 2010 at 5:08 pm

I recall visiting/commenting at this site when Jaliek first disappeared.
Tonight his name crossed my mind and I ran a search to see if there has been any new developments, and wound up back here.

Thanks to you, Kim and to all the other people who get involved one way or the other…in the search for our missing loved ones!

  25. Stephen Kerr is NO longer a person of interest. There are NO suspects in the missing of Jaliek Rainwalker.

    September 30, 2010 at 7:32 am

  26. Is there documentation that says SK is no longer a person of interest? I would think that kind of thing would have made front page news somewhere. Since October 1st is another mile stone I will pray for the family as Jaliek has been missing for 35 months. Each day that passes is as painful than the last. Maybe even more so. God Bless everyone invilved in Jaliek’s case. Even people that feel the need to cause trouble. Justice and love for Jaliek.

    September 30, 2010 at 9:17 pm

  27. The Times Union wrote: No suspects have been named in Jaliek Rainwalker’s disappearance. If Stephen Kerr was still a person of interest, he would also be a suspect. The TU was, for once, very kind to Stephen Kerr. You can’t attack this family anymore so leave them alone.

    October 1, 2010 at 1:30 pm

  28. October 1st? Don’t you mean November 1st? Obviously you are one of the trouble makers.

    October 2, 2010 at 3:38 pm

  29. If you read the post instead of judging it perhaps you would understand that I said the milestone of Oct. 1st represented 35 months missing. November 1st will be 3 years missing or 36 months. I hope I have cleared the matter up for you. I am not a troublemaker. Never have been never will be.
There s a big difference between being a suspect and a person of interest BUT you have always been capable of twisting the words into something that makes you happy. Ignorance is Bliss

    October 9, 2010 at 2:40 pm

  30. My appologies for not keeping up here, I’ve been out of town on business. Now that I’m back …

Just because there are NO suspects in the disappearance of Jaliek Rainwalker doesn’t mean there isn’t a person of interest. A person of interest is NOT the same as a suspect, which is why Stephen Kerr remains a person of interest.

    October 12, 2010 at 1:49 pm

  31. All these years wasted – searching – money wasted – tax dollars wasted – all for nothing. Person of interest? Nothing but a gd police cover up. Yup – keep wasting everyones time and money you morons.

    October 28, 2010 at 5:48 am

  32. I agree with poster #11. No one has any business criticizing or slandering the family. This rationale of “how will the child find the family since they have moved away” is ridiculous. And the near family is always the first to be “of interest” when an individual dies or goes missing.

If you want to help find the child, then do something positive instead of massaging your ego by accusing the family.

  33. I just finished reading some articles about this beautiful young boy, Jaliek. STEVEN KERR IS A MURDERER! It’s no coincidence that days before he wanted to revoke his adoption. Kerr also stated that this precious boy was suicidal and homicidal, yet, he wasn’t seeing a psychiatrist or receiving any type of treatment. This Quack of a family shouldn’t have been able to adopt in the first place!
