with 4 comments

“GREENWICH — The story of missing Washington County boy Jaliek Rainwalker will appear on a national TV show Feb. 1.

“Find Our Missing” was created by TV One. The one-hour show will tell the stories of 18 people of color over the course of 10 episodes who have gone missing throughout the United States. Jaliek, a biracial child, was 12 when he disappeared in 2007 after his adoptive father picked him up from a stay in a respite home in Altamont.”

Hannah Smith Found Safe!!

Thank God!

EAST GREENBUSH — Hannah Smith, a 16-year-old reported missing on New Year’s Day, has been found, police said late Saturday.

The Columbia High School junior apparently ran away from home, according to her parents, Loriann and Stephen Smith, who began an intensive search for their daughter.

Scanner chatter around 11 p.m. indicated Hannah was a passenger in a vehicle spotted on the Thruway near Kingston, but the East Greenbush police would not confirm that, or if anyone was arrested in connection with Hannah’s disappearance.

According to police, the teen is safe.”

Hannah Smith Contacts Parents Through Facebook

leave a comment »

Shortly after Thursday night’s vigil the parents of Hannah Smith received a call from one of Hannah’s friends saying they were chatting on Facebook.  Hannah’s father sent her a friend request and they began to chat.  This has to be comforting for Mr. and Mrs. Smith, knowing that she is ok, but at the same time she is still not home.  They still do not know where Hannah is and will not be totally relieved until she is safely home.  Hopefully this Facebook chat is the beginning to a happy ending for Hannah and her family.

Prayer Vigil for Hannah Smith had good turn out

leave a comment »

There was a large turn out for a prayer vigil for Hannah Smith last night.  The Community Gospel Church was filled with family,  friends, classmates and members of the community, all coming together to pray for Hannah’s safe return.  It has been almost 2 weeks since Hannah has been seen or heard from.  There has been no activity on her cell phone to trace where she may be.  Her parents believe that someone is helping Hannah and that she may have met this person on Facebook.

If you have any information on Hannah Smith please contact the East Greenbush Police 518-479-2525.

Community Comes Together For Hannah

leave a comment »

The poster blitz held yesterday for Hannah Smith had a really good turn out.  Family, friends and members of the community came together to distribute posters with Hannah’s picture and information across the Capital District.  I also went to pick up some posters to help spread the word of Hannah’s disappearance.  It was nice to see so many people going in and out of the Community Gospel Church, posters in hand.  By the end of the day Hannah’s picture was all over the Town of East Greenbush.  But the effort didn’t stop there.  I took some posters over to the truck stop in Albany and the restaurant next door.  My next stop was the Greyhound bus terminal but someone beat me to it.  I took a drive over to Glenmont thinking I would hit the gas stations and Stewart’s but they were already there.  I circled back to Menands, someone beat me to it.  This morning I saw her poster in a diner in Latham.  Much of the Capital District has been covered and it’s great to see!

Hopefully Hannah will see herself on the news and contact a friend or, better yet, her parents.  I am praying for her safe return, hoping that she did run away and hasn’t met up with anything sinister.
